What was Jesus about?
Jesus was all about His Father, the Father of all creation. He wanted the most religious people of the day, to know and see what it really looked like to connect with God. He lived a life of service and love to the most broken and rejected people; thieves, prostitutes, sick and dying, poor and homeless. He took time to talk with them, eat with them and heal them. He said, “if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father”. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. There is no way to the Father, except through me.” He made a way for all people to come into relationship with the pure perfection of Love Himself (God, the Father of all creation). He overcame death! After he was crucified and buried, he came back to life! He conquered death!!! Not even the grave could hold pure love! The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is available for you and me. This is what Jesus promised He would leave, when He ascended to heaven…The gift of the comforter, the Holy Spirit. Jesus made a way for us all to have that same Spirit live in us and guide us; so we could live lives free from darkness and destruction-a life of freedom and love with the Creator of all the universe, through Christ. “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me” -Jesus (John 14:6)
Spirit filled living
Jesus spoke to His students and said,
“But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name (in My place to represent Me and act on My behalf), He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.” (John 14:26) Amplified Bible
He also said that if we believe Him (The Way, The Truth, and The Life), that we will do even greater works than He did! Whatever we ask in His name (for God’s good purposes), He will do it! (John 14:12-14) This is quite a new way of living! This is the abundant life.
When we humble ourselves to love God with all our being (thoughts, emotions, will, and body) we can begin to see our true identity, and it is from that identity that we can love others. We have the ability to connect to the Spirit of the Living God-to let Love Himself dwell within our being and lead us in all things, with peace, wisdom, and joy. Nothing can separate us from this love-all we have to do is humble ourselves before God, rest in His sufficiency and be willing to step out in faith to be what we were created to be-Free from depression, anxiety, fear, hurt, and offense. He came to heal us and set us free! (Luke 4:18)
